In May 2010 Japan's total commercial sales amounted to Yen 38.87 trillion, a 1.3% YoY increase. Wholesale value came to Yen 27.82 trillion, up 0.7% over the same month in 2009.  Measured at the retail level sales were Yen 11.57 trillion, a YoY increase of 2.9%.

In Feb. 2010 Japan's total commercial sales amounted to Yen 38.52 trillion, a 8.9% YoY decline.   Wholesale sales value came to Yen 28.,13 trillion, down 2.7% over the same month in 2009.  By retail sales the value was Yen 10.39 trillion, an YoY increase of 4.2%.
