Family Restaurants

Family Restaurants in Japan

On April 26, 2010, the Japan Food Service Association published countrywide data on the sales figures for Family Restaurants in Japan.  While total customer visits over the 3-month period declined, the average spend by shop visitors in January increase compared to the same month last year. .

Family restaurants are Japan's answer to American chain-restaurants and enjoy popularity especially among young families and students. Their long opening hours, all-you-can-drink set-meals, parking lots, and the selection of cheap Western-style food appeals to many of families with kids and to students over traditional Japanese-style restaurants and pubs.
