Think Tank Activities

Economic forecasting

In addition to strategy studies and marketing fieldwork for corporations, JMR has an active group of staff involved in macroeconomic forecasting for the Japanese and Asia economy as well as microeconomic modeling of consumer trends and behavior..  JMR publishes a quarterly journal whose title translated in English is Consumer Economic Review [Shohi keizai rebyuu] with economic forecasts and analysis.

Policy consultancy

JMR is called on by government for studies and consultancy to help leaders plan for future policies in areas such as:
  • consumer privacy policy
  • government level support of innovation
  • infrastructure support for the consumer electronics equipment makers, service providers and consumers
  • related fields
 
JMR staff have advised on topics such as:
  • creating more government-industry synergy
  • policy for cognitive radio and spectrum allocation
  • support of industry innovation on the political level
  • regional development consultancy panels

As a consequence JMR written articles appear in government related think tank journals such as Regional Policy Review.
