Asahi Beer

JMR has just issued an update to its Asahi Beer case available here (in Japanese) for subscribers to the Japanese site.

Asahi Beer is a leading brewery and one of the major players in the Japanese market for alcoholic beverages. Its products range from the famous "Asahi Super Dry" Beer to a wide variety of low-malt beer, as well as Whisky and Shochu.

For the most recent fiscal year 2009 ended last December, Asahi had consolidated net sales of Yen 1.47 trillion, a 0.7% increase for the year. Net income rose 5.8% to Yen 47.6 billion, thanks in part to a strong overseas markets with contributions form investments in Schweppes Australia and the Tsingtao Brewery group in China.
